Once a while, my friends will order Ramen Shop's fried rice as a small appetizer. It is a little bit spicy from their house-made shrimp-chili paste. 

Comparing to Chinese fried rice, Japanese fried rice is a little more sticky and moist. From what I learn from Cooking With Dog, they use freshly made rice that was cooked with less water so that they will be drier and more appropriate for making fried rice. For Chinese fried rice, overnight rice will be used to get a drier rice-grain texture.
